March, 31st 2007: The 2007 Pinewood Derby
season just ended. Joseph had another great year. He won 1st place in his pack. He also placed first in the District. In doing
so he set another track record. Today at the Council championships at historic Churchill Downs he placed 2nd. In the final
race it appeared to the naked eye to be a tie. There were multiple ties in the final 4. Fortunately electronic sensors can
spot what the naked eye can't. Joseph was very happy with his trophy. I had the good fortune today of meeting some of you
who had dropped by this site. Pine people are the best. Good luck in the upcoming year...it's time for a little rest.

Cub Scout PWD February 15th, 2006
Smokin' Joe takes 1st in the Wolf den and 1st in overall speed. His Den won the team trophy and Joe's car broke the previous
track record (his last year)of 2.745 with a time of 2.6956 seconds. On to the District race!
Good Golly Miss Molly! Molly took 1st in the Siblings division. She was 2nd overall in speed but was not allowed to compete
with the Scouts. She edged Joe in one heat by 4/1000th of a second.

(2005) This year my son
Joseph ran his first Pinewood Derby. He won his Cub Scout Pack race the first time out. He then placed 3rd in the district
race. Later he finished 3rd in the Council-Scout-O-Rama. That was a double elimination race which had him going head to head
with the eventual winner 5 times. Joseph took 2 of 5 races. He was also never beaten by the 2nd place finisher. It was a very
exciting experience for the whole family. He was the only Tiger Cub (age 7) in the finals. To bridge the gap till next years
Derby we race our cars in the Woodcar Independent Racing League or WIRL. Come visit from time to time and we will keep
you updated on our progress.
